COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Freshmen divers Nikki Canale and Christy Cutshaw of the No. 5-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team competed on the one-meter springboard to open the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Thursday (March 8) at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Canale made the one-meter final with a 13th-place finish (538.10), one spot shy of the top-12 barrier needed to dive that event at NCAAs should she qualify on three-meter and/or platform in the coming days. Cutshaw took 25th (252.75) in the event.
Both divers will be in action tomorrow (Friday, March 9) on three-meter. Preliminaries are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
