
Michigan Closes Out Regular Season with Win Over No. 18 UIC

» Michigan swept all six events while earning a season-high on three events: pommel horse (67.900), parallel bars (69.150) and high bar (69.550).
» Freshman Cameron Bock took home two event titles and the all-around title with a final mark of 84.850.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's gymnastics team defeated No. 18 UIC 417.700-366.500 on Saturday (March 31) on Senior Day inside Crisler Center.
The Wolverines (8-4, 2-2 Big Ten) led wire-to-wire, sweeping all six events to defeat the Flames (0-3) with a new season-high score. The Maize and Blue finished the afternoon with a season-high on three events: pommel horse (67.900), parallel bars (69.150) and high bar (69.550).
Freshman Jacob Moore took home two event titles. His first came on floor exercise with a 14.900, after coming into the meet ranked third in the nation on the apparatus. He also dominated the pommel horse with a career-high 14.100.
Junior Ryan Dunning took the win on still with a score of 14.400 followed by strong performances from freshman James Read (14.300) and freshman Cameron Bock (13.800).
The Wolverines' success continued on vault with junior Emyre Cole winning the event with a 14.500, followed by a second-place tie between redshirt junior Marty Strech and freshman Nick Guy (14.35).
Michigan continued to command each rotation with Bock taking home the title and a new personal best on parallel bars (14.600). Senior Dmitri Belanovski followed in second place with a 13.950.
Bock also earned a career-best on high bar to take home the event title with a 14.650. He also competed in the all-around for the second time this season finishing with a mark of 84.850.

Michigan will compete in Crisler Center next weekend (April 6-7) when it hosts the 2018 Big Ten Championships, slated for a 7 p.m. start times on both Friday and Saturday.
