
Amine, Micic Named Wolverines' 2018-19 Captains

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan wrestling head coach Sean Bormet announced Saturday (Nov. 10) that redshirt juniors Myles Amine and Stevan Micic have been named captains for the 2018-19 season.
A two-time NCAA All-American at 174 pounds, Amine went 26-7 last year and carries an impressive 71-16 career record at Michigan. He has placed top four at the NCAA Championships in each of his two varsity seasons, claiming fourth as a freshman and third last year as a sophomore. He also has never finished worse than third at the Big Ten and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational tournaments. Amine's father, Mike, served as a Michigan team captain during the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons.
Micic is a two-time NCAA All-American for Michigan, claiming runner-up honors last season after taking fourth place as a freshman in 2017. He captured the Big Ten 133-pound title last year and owns a 74-13 career record, including a 26-3 mark last season, with 52 bonus wins.
Both Amine and Micic are also accomplished in the classroom as two-time Academic All-Big Ten and NWCA All-Academic honorees. Amine is a business administration major through the Ross School of Business, while Micic is majoring in sociology.
Michigan will kick off the dual-meet portion of its 2018-19 season tomorrow (Sunday, Nov. 11) when its heads to Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to take on in-state rival Central Michigan at 2 p.m. in McGuirk Arena.
