INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Three members of the University of Michigan women's tennis team will participate in the 2016 NCAA Individual Championships as the selections were released by the NCAA on Wednesday (May 4).
Senior Ronit Yurovsky punched her ticket to her fourth straight singles championship, joining former Wolverine Emina Bektas (2012-15) as the only players in school history to earn a singles berth in all four seasons. Yurovsky is currently ranked No. 16 by the ITA and holds a 22-10 overall record this season. She is 15-5 in dual-match action, going 14-5 at No. 1 and 1-0 at No. 2. Yurovsky received a No. 9-16 seed, cementing her as an All-American in her final season in the Maize and Blue. She is tied for third in U-M history with 112 singles wins.
Freshman Brienne Minor is the third Wolverine freshman to receive an invite to the NCAA Singles Championship, joining Bektas and Yurovsky as first-year Wolverines to participate. Minor, the winner of the 2015 ITA Midwest Regional singles championship, features a 33-8 record on the year. She is 17-5 in dual matches, seeing time at No. 1 (1-0), No. 2 (9-5) and No. 3 (7-0).
Minor and sophomore Mira Ruder-Hook will appear in the doubles tournament after compiling a 15-4 record, including a 9-2 dual-match mark at No. 1. The pair combined to beat the No. 1-ranked doubles team twice this season, coming against Kentucky and North Carolina. The pair received the Big Ten's automatic bid. Ruder-Hook will be making her first appearance at the individual championships.
The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will take place May 25-30 at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
