COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Freshman Anthony McCallum became only the third NCAA vault champion in University of Michigan men's gymnastics history, and the first in 13 years, as he earned a 15.550 in the NCAA individual event finals Saturday (April 16) at Ohio State's St. John Arena.
Additionally, sophomore Dmitri Belanovski placed seventh in the all-around with an 85.700 and tied for fifth on floor (14.700) to earn a pair of All-America honors. He was joined by senior Colin Mahar, who tied for third on still rings with a 15.200 that featured a stuck dismount, to round out U-M trio of All-Americans.
In all, seven members of the No. 11-ranked Wolverines competed on the championship third session.
Belanovski, U-M's lone all-around qualifier, earned an event score of 14.700 on floor, which was good for fifth, and added a 14.500 that tied him for 13th on parallel bars and a 14.550 on high bar that tied for 15th to lead his push for the All-America honor.
The fifth rotation was where McCallum etched his name in the U-M record books, as he nearly stuck his Tsukahara Double Pike, using only a small hop on his landing, and tallied a 15.550 for the NCAA title.

Mahar closed out U-M's championship with the 15.200 on rings. His pristine dismount resulted in a stuck landing for the added bonus and tied for third.
Senior Nolan Novak, the 2015 NCAA runner-up on the event, placed 12th on the horse with a score of 14.600
The Oklahoma Sooners took the team title with a 443.400, while OU's Yul Moldauer captured the all-around title with an 89.100.
The night signified the end of the road for three U-M gymnasts in Novak, Mahar and Michael Strathern, all of whom competed for the final time in a U-M uniform at NCAAs.
