
Martin Voted to Academic All-District Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sophomore Reilly Martin of the University of Michigan women's soccer team was named to the Academic All-District Five Team, the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday (Oct. 27). Martin will now advance to the Academic All-America team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, in his/her second year at the current institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
In her first year eligible for the award, the Carmel, Indiana, native secured one of the 11 spots on the District Five team. She has started 16 of 17 games played and is currently leading Michigan with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists. Her seven assists rank tied for second in the Big Ten, while her 21 points (1.24 per game) are tied for fifth in the conference. This season, she has had at least one point in 11 of 17 matches.
Prior to the 2016 season, the movement science major was selected to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List, after earning a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2015.
Martin and the Wolverines (10-4-3, 6-3-2 Big Ten) finished fourth in the Big Ten regular-season standings and earned the right to host fifth-seed Wisconsin (8-4-7, 5-2-4 Big Ten) in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
