SKILLMAN, N.J. -- Senior Ronit Yurovsky of the University of Michigan women's tennis team has earned a singles berth to the inaugural 2015 Oracle/ITA Masters tournament. She is one of 16 singles participants in the prestigious tournament.
Yurovsky ended her junior campaign ranked No. 31 in singles by the ITA after going 34-10 on the season. She was 17-1 on the season at No. 2 and 4-2 at No. 1 for a 21-3 dual-match record. Yurovsky was a unanimous All-Big Ten selection for the third straight season and participated in the NCAA Singles Championship a season ago.
The inaugural Oracle/ITA Masters marks the first national collegiate championship of the 2015-16 season. The event will be played at the Malibu Racquet Club in Malibu, California, with Pepperdine University helping to facilitate the championships. The tournament will run Sept. 18-20.
Sixteen of the top returning Division I men's and women's singles players will compete, along with eight outstanding men's and women's doubles teams. Each participant is guaranteed two matches.
Yurovsky is the lone senior on the 2015-16 roster, which features the No. 3-ranked recruiting class and four returning lineup regulars. U-M went 26-4 last year and won its sixth straight Big Ten championship.
