Michigan Head Coach Ronni Bernstein
On what this win means for her team ... "We have been so close and we have had some heartbreakers. It is so exciting to see them come through. You could see a little bit of the nerves creeping in with a few of them, but they fought through it. I thought we really took it to them in singles. We never let them back in the match. Even at No. 5, Mira was turning hers a little bit. I am so proud of our seniors, for them to win this tournament because they have meant so much to this program. For Emina and Sarah to come through today, that was huge."
On winning the doubles point ... "I told them after that doubles point that we were lucky to win that point. We have played before without winning the point and that was kind of the mentality I wanted them to take into singles. I wanted them to play like we needed four singles wins, not just three. While we were on a little bit of a high from it, which I think helped, I kept telling them that we still had a lot of work to do."
On Ronit Yurovsky and Sarah Lee rallying for the doubles win at No. 2 ... "It was huge. It looked like we were going to win easily at No. 1. They were tight at the beginning but they settled in. For us to win that match was pretty incredible. This really was a team win for us, top to bottom. I am just so happy for the girls."
