• Michigan fell to 68-35-5 in the all-time series against Michigan State. The Spartans have claimed each of the last three series games and seven of the last eight.
• Senior fullback Sione Houma carried the ball three times for a career-best 30 rushing yards and two touchdowns -- the second and third of his career. He also posted a career-long 27-yard run in the first quarter. His previous best single-game rushing total was 20 yards, while his previous long was 13 yards; he recorded both against Oregon State (Sept. 12).
• Michigan's defensive streaks of 13 straight shutout quarters and 46 consecutive scoreless drives ended when Michigan State scored a touchdown with 7:06 left in the second quarter.
• The Spartan's 74-yard pass play to Trevor Pendleton in the fourth quarter was the longest allowed by the Michigan defense this season.
• Sophomore safety Jabrill Peppers posted a career-best 49 kick return yards on a return of the same distance in the second quarter. His previous best -- and long -- was 36 yards, which he recorded in the season opener at Utah (Sept. 3).
• Peppers also posted a career-best 48 punt return yards, including a career-long 34-yard punt return in the second quarter. His previous best was 38 yards, and his long was 29; he both recorded at Maryland (Oct. 3).
• Peppers recorded a 28-yard reception on his first collegiate catch in the third quarter.
• With three sacks, Michigan registered its sixth straight game with multiple sacks.
• Senior defensive tackle Willie Henry matched a career best with two sacks -- his fourth straight game with a sack and second in a row with two. Henry owns 9.5 sacks in his career.
• Senior defensive end Chris Wormley posted his second sack of the season -- for a loss of 10 yards -- in second quarter. Wormley owns 7.5 career sacks.
• Junior cornerback Jourdan Lewis matched a program record with six pass breakups, tying Marlin Jackson, who accomplished the feat against Washington on Aug. 31, 2002. Lewis owns 14 pass breakups on the season, placing him tied for fourth among U-M's single-season leaders in the category.
• Lewis' 22 career breakups place him tied for 13th in program history in that category. He is tied with Jamar Adams (2004-07) and needs just one more to reach the 11th spot, currently held by Thom Darden (23, 1969-71) and Donovan Warren (23, 2007-09).
• Senior kicker Kenny Allen posted a career-best 11 points off a career-best three field goals -- of 38, 21 and 38 yards -- and two PAT. It is his third game with multiple field goals this season. He upped his season field goal total to 10 and is a perfect 10-for-10 on attempts within 40 yards. His previous best was nine points, which he tallied against Oregon State.
• Graduate student punter Blake O'Neill posted a career-best 312 yards on seven punts, including a career-long 80-yard punt in the first quarter. O'Neill's previous career best was 300 yards -- on six punts -- against Northern Arizona during his junior year at Weber State in 2014, while his previous career long was 74 yards, which he recorded last season against Cal Poly.
• O'Neill's 80-yard boot is the longest punt by any FBS punter so far this season and the second longest in Michigan program history, trailing only Monte Robbins' 82-yard punt at Hawaii on Dec. 6, 1986.
• Today's announced attendance of 111,740 marks the 263rd consecutive game of more than 100,000 fans at Michigan Stadium. It is the largest home crowd since U-M drew 113,085 for last year's Penn State night game (Oct. 11, 2014).
