ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The back-to-back Big Ten and NCAA champion No. 2-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team was selected to finish second in the Big Ten, the conference announced Thursday (Dec. 11) with the release of the preseason coaches' poll and Gymnast to Watch List.
Senior Adrian de los Angeles, the NCAA runner-up in the all-around in 2013, and senior/junior Michael Strathern, a 2015 co-captain, earned spots on the Gymnast to Watch list. Both selections missed a significant portion of time last season, as Strathern earned a medical redshirt, while de los Angeles missed the Big Ten and NCAA Championships due to a knee injury.
The selection moves U-M's streak of being selected in the top two in the preseason poll to six years in a row. The last time U-M was outside of the top two was prior to the start of the 2009 season.
U-M opens the regular season Saturday (Jan. 17) with the Windy City Invite in Chicago, Ill.
Season tickets may be purchased online at MGoBlue.com/tickets, over the phone (734-764-0247 or toll-free 866-296-MTIX) or in person at the Michigan Athletics Ticket Office, located in the Marie Hartwig Building at 1100 South State Street in Ann Arbor.
