Postgame Notes: Michigan 34, Indiana 10

• The Wolverines have now won 19 consecutive meetings between the two schools, a streak that began back in 1988. Michigan improves to 54-9 all-time in the series.
• U-M is 87-27 all-time in homecoming games, and improves to 4-0 in homecoming games under head coach Brady Hoke. Additionally, the Maize and Blue is 12-1 vs. Indiana as a homecoming game opponent.
• The U-M defense held Indiana to 167 rushing yards, 122 yards below IU's season average. The Hoosiers entered the game averaging 289.9 yards on the ground, eighth-best in the NCAA. The Wolverines also held the nation's leading rusher, Tevin Coleman, to 108 yards, 62 below his average of 170.3. Coleman entered the weekend ranked No. 1 in rushing yards per game in the NCAA.
• The Michigan defense held Indiana to only 24 yards passing on Saturday. The last time an opponent had fewer than 25 yards passing was Sept. 11, 1999, vs. Rice (15 yards). The last time an opponent had less than 50 yards passing was Oct. 13, 2012, vs. Illinois (29 yards). The Hoosiers only scored 10 points on Saturday. They came in averaging 30.1 points per game.
• The defense allowed only 191 yards of total offense, a season low for an opponent this season. The previous season low was 198 yards against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 13.
• Michigan accumulated 404 yards of total offense, its third-highest total of the season behind Appalachian State on Aug. 30 (560) and Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 13 (260). It had 220 yards passing on Saturday, a season high.
• Michigan is now 22-for-24 in the Red Zone (.917) and has scored a touchdown on 18-of-24 trips inside the 20-yard line (.750).
• Fifth-year senior linebacker Jake Ryan forced two fumbles in the first quarter, giving him seven for his career. That moves him into a tie for second in U-M history (Brandon Graham, 2006-09).
• Ryan recorded 2.5 TFL giving him 44 in his career and moving him into a tie for seventh place on U-M's all-time list (Larry Foote, 1998-2001). The linebacker has picked up a TFL in 32 of his past 40 games.
• Ryan tallied 10 solo tackles, a new career high (previous: eight 2x, last at Rutgers).
• Junior wide receiver Devin Funchess extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one catch to 22, the 10th longest streak in U-M history. Desmond Howard is ninth with 24 straight games with at least one catch.
• Senior quarterback Devin Gardner recorded 238 yards of total offense for a new career total of 6,695. He now ranks fourth all-time in U-M history, trailing only John Navarre (9,031, 2000-03) Chad Henne (9,400, 2004-07) and Denard Robinson (10,745, 2009-12).
• Gardner threw for 220 yards, notching his 12th career 200-yard passing game. He is now tied with Jim Harbaugh (1983-86) and Denard Robinson (2009-12) for most 200-yard games on U-M's career list.
• Gardner recorded 22 completions, giving him 429 in his career. He is now ranked sixth in U-M history, passing Denard Robinson (427, 2009-12) today.
• Gardner threw for 220 yards in the game. He now ranks fifth on U-M's career list with 5,888 yards, passing Todd Collins (5,858, 1991-94) today.
• Gardner played 64 plays on offense, totaling 1,047 in his career and moving him into fifth-place on U-M's career list.
• Gardner completed 7-of-8 passes in the first quarter and is now 43-of-54 (.796) in first quarters this season.
• Gardner threw two touchdown passes in the game giving him 42 in his career and moving him into a tie for sixth on U-M's career list (Steve Smith, 1980-83).
• Gardner has accounted for at least two touchdowns in 18 of his last 26 games.
• Senior placekicker Matt Wile connected on a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, giving him 16 in his career. He moved into sole possession of 13th place on U-M's career list, passing Peter Elezovic (1990-93), Kraig Baker (1994-97) and Jeff Del Verne (1999-2000).
• Freshman defensive tackle Bryan Mone recorded the first fumble recovery of his career in the first quarter.
• Senior/junior tight end Keith Heitzman caught a six-yard touchdown in the first quarter, the first of his career.
• Junior safety Jarrod Wilson notched a six-yard tackle for loss in the first quarter, his first of the season and third of his career.
• Senior/junior fullback Joe Kerridge caught a 17-yard pass in the second quarter, a new career long (previous: 12 yards at Nebraska in 2012).
• Junior linebacker Joe Bolden recorded a sack in the second quarter, his second of the season. That ties his career high (two) set in 2013. He also notched two tackles for loss, tying a career high he set against Iowa in 2012.
• Junior/sophomore wide receiver Amara Darboh recorded his second career touchdown, a 12-yard reception, in the second quarter.
• Junior/sophomore Amara Darboh set career bests in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (107) on Saturday. His previous career highs of six (receptions) and 88 (receiving yards) both came on Sept. 13 vs. Miami (Ohio). He also recorded his second career touchdown, a 12-yard reception, in the second quarter.
• Junior/sophomore running back Drake Johnson also had a career day, setting highs in attempts (16), yards (122) and touchdowns (two). He also set a new career long with a 32-yard rush in the fourth quarter. His previous career highs all came on Aug. 30 vs. Appalachian State -- three (attempts), 28 (yards) and 27 (longest rush).
• Junior/sophomore wide receiver Bo Dever caught a 26-yard pass in the fourth quarter, the first reception of his career.
• Senior defensive end Brennen Beyer recorded eight tackles, a new career high (previous: six vs. Utah).
• Today's game captains for Michigan were Joe Bolden, Joe Kerridge and Jarrod Wilson.
• The attendance for today's game was 103,111, making it the 257th consecutive game with at least 100,000 fans at Michigan Stadium.
