The University of Michigan volleyball team (6-8, 1-3 Big Ten) returns to Cliff Keen Arena for the first time in almost three weeks as the Maize and Blue hosts a pair of Big Ten matches. The Wolverines host Iowa (8-7, 0-4) on Friday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. The match will be Michigan's annual "Pink Match" as well as Alumnae Weekend at Keen. U-M then faces No. 8 Nebraska on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 12) at 1 p.m. Michigan is coming off a split against Michigan State in a home-and-home series this past week.
Scouting the Opposition
Iowa -- The Hawkeyes fell to Ohio State and Penn State in three sets this past weekend. Lauren Brobst had nine kills, and Michelle Fugarino added eight digs in the loss to the Buckeyes. On the year, Alex Lovell leads the Hawkeyes in kills per set (3.37/s), and Fugarino is averaging 4.15 digs per set. Mikaela Gunderson leads Iowa with 47 total blocks, and Alyssa Klostermann has 6.21 assists per set.
Nebraska -- The Cornhuskers upset No. 3 Penn State in four sets before falling to Ohio State in five this past weekend. Kadie Rolfzen had 13 kills, and Annika Albrecht added 20 digs in the win over the Nittany Lions. Rolfzen has a team-leading 3.54 kills per set, while Mary Pollmiller is averaging 10.04 assists per set. Meghan Haggerty has posted 61 team blocks, and Justine Wong-Orantes is averaging 3.91 digs per set.
Iowa/Nebraska Series Records
Michigan holds a 37-26 lead over Iowa in the all-time series between the two schools. The Wolverines won both matches against the Hawkeyes last year, including a four-set win in Ann Arbor on Oct. 12, 2013. Lexi Erwin led all players with 17 kills, while Lexi Dannemiller had 49 assists ... Nebraska holds an 8-2 series advantage on the Maize and Blue. The Huskers defeated Michigan in five sets in Ann Arbor on Oct. 11, 2013. Jennifer Cross had 13 kills, while Abby Cole added 12 kills and six blocks in the match.
Dannemiller Posts Double-Double on Senior Night
Senior setter Lexi Dannemiller had a double-double with 41 assists and 17 digs on Senior Night in a four-set win over Michigan State at Crisler Center on Sept. 30. Dannemiller also had four service aces, which tied a season high for a Wolverine, and four kills in the win. Dannemiller was honored as the team's lone senior after the match. She now has 4,677 career assists in a Michigan uniform and is averaging 10.44 assists per set this season.
Big Ten Leaders
Junior Tiffany Morales is eighth in digs per set (4.11/s). Sophomore Abby Cole is eighth in points per set (3.98/s) and 10th in blocks per set (1.11/s). As a team, Michigan is third in the Big Ten in digs per set (14.82/s).
Morales Moving Up the Dig List
Junior Tiffany Morales has 1,266 career digs heading into this weekend's matches, which puts her seventh on Michigan's all-time digs list. She passed Katie Bruzdzinski (2004-07) after averaging 5.30 digs per set in the Michigan Invitational (Sept. 19-20). She needs 21 digs to move past Kerry Hance (2005-08) for sixth place on the list. Stesha Selsky (2004-07) holds Michigan's all-time mark with 2,178 career digs.

Michigan will face Rutgers and Maryland for the first time as Big Ten opponents. The Wolverines and Scarlet Knights will play on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. in Piscataway, N.J. Michigan faces Maryland Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. in College Park, Md.
