• Junior wide receiver Devin Funchess has caught at least one pass in 21 straight games, surpassing Anthony Carter (20) for 10th among U-M's all-time leaders in consecutive games with a reception. He needs a catch in three more games to reach the ninth spot, currently held by Desmond Howard (24).
• Sophomore tight end Jake Butt has hauled in at least one reception in six straight games.
• Senior linebacker Jake Ryan has recorded a tackle for loss in 31 of his last 39 games. Ryan needs 1.5 TFLs to tie Shawn Crable (43, 2004-07) for eighth on Michigan's all-time list, 2.5 to tie Larry Foote (44, 1998-2001) for seventh and 3.5 to tie Glen Steele (45, 1994-97) for sixth.
• Sophomore defensive lineman Chris Wormley tallied his fifth career sack in the first quarter. Wormley has notched a sack in two straight games.
• Jake Ryan posted the seventh double-digit tackle game of his career, finishing the contest with 12 takedowns to tie a career high. Ryan notched six of those tackles in the first quarter.
• Senior defensive end Frank Clark has recorded a tackle for loss in seven of eight games this season. Clark has notched 16.5 TFLs over Michigan's last 17 games. He also recorded the fourth fumble recovery of his career and first of the season in today's contest.
• Junior safety Jarrod Wilson forced the first fumble of his career in the second quarter. On the same play, sophomore defensive back Delano Hill notched the first fumble recovery of his career.
• Jarrod Wilson (10), Joe Bolden (12) and Delano Hill (5) all set new career highs in tackles against the Spartans.
• Senior kicker Matt Wile connected on a season-long 48-yard field goal in the second quarter. Wile is tied for third on U-M's single-season list of 40+-yard field goals made with five, tying Remy Hamilton (1996), J.D. Carlson (1989) and Brendan Gibbons (2013).
• Matt Wile is tied for sixth on Michigan's all-time career list of 40+-yard field goals made with eight, tying Bob Bergeron (1981-84) and Hayden Epstein (1998-2001).
• Today's game captains for Michigan were senior defensive end Brennen Beyer, senior quarterback Devin Gardner and senior defensive backs Delonte Hollowell and Raymon Taylor.
