In one of the biggest regular-season meets of the season, the University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (1-0, 1-0 Big Ten) will host traditional powerhouses Indiana (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten), Louisville (1-0) and Texas (1-0) for a two-day quad meet inside historic Canham Natatorium. The meet, which will be run in conjunction with the women's programs from all four schools, will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 24) and 10 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 25). Admission is free.
At the 2014 NCAA Championships, Texas finished second, followed by Michigan (4th), Indiana (10th) and Louisville (11th). On the women's side, Texas was ninth, followed by Indiana (12th), Louisville (15th) and Michigan (30th).
On Friday, the Michigan cheer and dance teams will make an appearance, and some post-graduate swimmers will sign autographs. On Saturday, select members of the Michigan men's and women's teams will sign autographs. There will also be fan giveaways on both days.
Also on Saturday, around 40 children from the Detroit Swims Initiative will make the trip to watch the meet. Back in July, Connor Jaeger, Sean Ryan and several Michigan swimmers and coaches hosted a swimming clinic at the Boll Family YMCA in Detroit to benefit Detroit Swims. [ Release ]

OPPONENT PREVIEWS
Indiana
Indiana (1-0) opened up the season with a 149-91 victory over Auburn on Oct. 10. Three Hoosiers picked up Big Ten weekly honors out of the victory, including Swimmer of the Week (Anze Tavcar), Diver of the Week (James Connor) and Freshman of the Week (Ali Khalafalla). Khalafalla and Connor are part of a loaded freshman class for Indiana, which also features Blake Pieroni and Cody Taylor. Indiana also has NCAA All-America IMer Steven Schmuhl and Michael Hixon, the transfer from Texas who last year was named NCAA Diver of the Year.
Louisville
Louisville (1-0) defeated Xavier, 205-64, back on Oct. 10 to open its season. The Cardinals always have a pretty strong contingent of international swimmers, this year led by Caryle Blondell (Trinidad), Pedro Coutinho (Brazil) and Grigory Tarasevich (Russia). Louisville also has former Michigan diving coach KZ Li on its coaching staff.
Texas
Texas (1-0) is coming off a season-opening victory over Texas A&M, 153-113, back on Oct. 17. The Longhorns finished second at the NCAA Championships last season and figure to be one of the top contenders for the title this year after losing only one scorer and bringing in one of the nation's top recruiting classes. Leading the way are seniors Clay Youngquist, Kip Darmody and Tripp Cooper, though some of their youngsters -- specifically sophomore Jack Conger and freshman Joseph Schooling -- are already among the nation's best.
SERIES HISTORY
In the all-time records, Michigan is 45-30-3 against Indiana and 8-8 against Texas. The Wolverines have never faced Louisville in a dual meet before.
DUAL-MEET SUCCESS
Over the last six years, Michigan is 50-3-1 in dual meets, including a 32-1 mark against Big Ten opponents. In that same stretch, the Wolverines are 21-1 in dual meets at Canham Natatorium, with the sole loss coming to then-No. 1 Texas on Nov. 1, 2008.
KIMBALL RETURNS
Former head diving coach Dick Kimball is back on deck with the men's and women's programs, returning as one of the program's volunteer assistants. Kimball coached at Michigan for 43 years (1960-2002) and added eight more as a volunteer (2003-10). He was an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic Team at five Olympic Games. [ Release ]
