Michigan Head Coach Ronni Bernstein
On singles play ... "We got off the court quick, which is what we want to do. At No. 3-6, it was pretty solid all the way. We just didn't want a letdown after that tough Nebraska win, so it was great to see them get the match underhand pretty quickly and get good starts on all the courts. At No. 1 and No. 2, we just lost the 10-point tiebreaker, which is tough. Overall we're happy with the weekend and glad to get out with a good win against Iowa today."
On the doubles performance ... "It was good to sweep. We were pretty solid at No. 1 and No. 3 today, and at No. 2, we just got a bit of a slow start and weren't executing that well. But they got their feet going and did a good job coming in and making volleys. It's getting better. We've been working on it, and we're starting to feel more comfortable in doubles."
On rebounding from last weekend's loss against Northwestern ... "Even though we didn't win against Northwestern, as we told the girls, we're making progress. Sometimes you can lose a match and really get something out of it. We're competing a lot better all the way down the line. That's what we need. At Nebraska [on Friday], we won a bunch of tough matches, while today, we just never let them in it. That's what we want to do, and we want to see that same mentality against Penn State. We need to be ready to compete at all positions."
