• With the 3-2 loss tonight, Michigan's all-time record against Michigan State drops to 140-124-19 overall and 44-62-9 on the road.
• Despite the loss, the Wolverines remain in third place in the CCHA standings entering tomorrow night's game versus MSU at Joe Louis Arena. Michigan trails first-place Ferris State by six points with five games remaining in the regular season.
• The scoreless first period tonight marked the 21st time this season that Michigan had held its opponents off the scoreboard in the opening frame.
• Junior forward A.J. Treais scored his 12th goal of the season, a single-season career high, and now has points in four straight games (4g, 1a).
• Luke Glendening (3a) and Lee Moffie (2g, 2a) both had assists tonight and extended their point-scoring streaks to three games apiece.
• Tonight marked the first time this season that Michigan had lost a game when leading after two periods (14-1-3).
• The Wolverines had killed off 23 straight penalties entering tonight's game and killed the first three in this contest, making it 26 in a row dating back to Jan. 15. The team has killed 40/44 in last 11 games overall.
• Goaltender Shawn Hunwick turned aside 27 of 30 shots and allowed more than two goals for the first time since Dec. 10 at MSU (10 games).
• Michigan State scored two goals in the third period, marking the first time U-M had allowed two goals in a period since Dec. 29 against Boston College (nine games).
