With the win, Michigan improves to 9-1 for the season. The Wolverines now hold a (3-1) mark in true road games on the season.
The Wolverines move to 10-12 all-time against Detroit Mercy with tonight's win. The last Michigan victory over the Titans came on Dec. 19, 2009, by a score of 65-51.
U-M moves to 20-19 all-time against teams currently in the Horizon League. Michigan holds a perfect record against three Horizon League members -- 2-0 against Loyola (Ill.), 1-0 against Wisconsin-Green Bay and 3-0 against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
U-M extends its three-point shooting streak to 168 consecutive games. Michigan has not been without at least one three-pointer in the Kevin Borseth era.
Kevin Borseth moves to 21-2 all time versus Detroit Mercy and a 2-1 record as the head coach at Michigan against the Titans.
Michigan held a 34-21 halftime lead in tonight's game. The Maize and Blue improved to 8-0 on the season when holding the lead at halftime.
Michigan shot 43 percent (24-of-56) from the field, 35 percent (8-of-23) from three-point range and 83 percent (5-of-6) from the free throw line.
The Wolverines matched a season high for assists with 18. U-M also recorded 18 assists earlier this season against Washington State.
Kate Thompson scored 16 points to lead Michigan's offensive unit for the second time this season, shooting 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-8 from three-point range. Additionally, Thompson has now led the reserves in scoring in 9-of-10 games this season.
Junior Jenny Ryan posted a career and game high with 11 assists. This mark eclipsed her previous high of eight, which she posted against Washington State on Nov. 25, 2011.
Senior Carmen Reynolds recorded three points and five rebounds in tonight's game. Reynolds now needs 23 points to reach 1,000-point plateau for her career.
Detroit native Nya Jordan returned home and posted four points and three rebounds. Jordan is an alum of Detroit Community High School.
Michigan went with the starting lineup of Courtney Boylan, Nicole Elmblad, Jenny Ryan, Carmen Reynolds and Rachel Sheffer. This was the 10th consecutive game U-M began with this combination.
