
Molk Receives First Team All-America Nod from FWAA

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Fifth-year senior center David Molk (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township HS) of the University of Michigan football team has been named a first team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, announced Saturday (Dec. 10) by the FWAA.
Molk is one of four Big Ten players on the team, joining Wisconsin running back Montee Ball, Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus and Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still.
This past Thursday (Dec. 8), Molk was honored as the 2011 Rimington Trophy recipient and received Walter Camp first team All-America recognition at the College Football Awards Show in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Following the Big Ten season, Molk was named first team All-Big Ten Conference by the league's coaches and received the inaugural Big Ten Rimington/Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year award.
Molk and the Wolverines (10-2) will face Virginia Tech (11-2) in the 78th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2012 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. The game will be televised on ESPN.
