
Wolverines Ranked No. 3 in GymInfo Preseason Poll

2012 U-M Men's Gymnastics Schedule
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's gymnastics team will enter the 2012 season ranked No. 3 in the GymInfo national poll. The Wolverines earned a pair of first-place votes. Oklahoma tops the poll at with five first-place votes, while Big Ten rival Illinois ranks second with seven first-place votes.
Stanford debuts in the poll ranked No. 4 and received a trio of first-place votes to round out the top four spots. The poll sported a strong Big Ten flavor, as conference members Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa rank No. 6-10.
The Wolverines will take on Oklahoma and Illinois in week three of the season on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m. CST in Champaign, Ill. Additionally, U-M will also square off with the Sooners on March 10 at 2 p.m. CST in Norman, Okla. Prior to the trip to Norman, the squad will take on Stanford on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. PST in Palo Alto, Calif.
This year's home slate features three meets against ranked opponents, as No. 6 Penn State visits Ann Arbor on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. No. 7 Ohio State pays a visit to Keen Arena on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m., while the home portion of the schedule closes out on Saturday, March 17, as the University of Illinois-Chicago takes on the Wolverines at 7 p.m.
The 2012 Big Ten Championships will be hosted April 6-7 by the University of Iowa, while the NCAA Championships will be hosted by Oklahoma April 19-21 in Norman.
