• Michigan and Western Michigan played for the 106th game of the series between the two CCHA squads. The Wolverines hold a 68-28-10 advantage over the Broncos. U-M has won 23 of the past 28 matchups.
• The Maize and Blue potted three goals in the third period. It is the eighth time this season that Michigan has scored three-plus goals in a single period.
• Sophomore defenseman Mac Bennett, who scored the game-winning goal tonight, has a career-long five-game point streak with five points (2g, 3a).
• Sophomore forward Derek DeBlois has a career-long four-game point streak with four points (2g, 2a).
• Greg Pateryn and Lindsay Sparks assisted two consecutive Michigan goals in the third period. Pateryn finished the weekend with four assists and a plus-3 rating.
• With his goal in the final period, junior center A.J. Treais moved into the team lead with six.
• Junior forward Lindsay Sparks had two assists on the night, and now leads the team in assists (8) and points (13).

• With tonight's victory, U-M has won 21 of its last 22 home games, with 20 of those wins coming at Yost plus one more at the Big Chill at the Big House.
