Michigan opens the season 3-0-0 with the win. The last time U-M began a season with three straight wins was in 2006-07.
The Wolverines have now won their last 16 games at Yost Arena and 17 consecutive in Ann Arbor, including the Big Chill at the Big House. This breaks the program record for the longest such streak, previously set during the 1961-62 season.
With 14 goals through the first three games of the season, each Wolverine that played in tonight's contest has a point this season.

Di Giuseppe notched his first career game-winning goal with his second goal of the night in the second period.
Junior forward A.J. Treais recorded a goal and an assist for the second straight contest. It was the ninth multiple point game of his career.
Freshman forward Alex Guptill punched in an empty-net goal to seal the Michigan victory. It was Guptill's second goal of the season.
Sophomore forward Luke Moffat recorded two assists in tonight's victory. It was his third multiple-point game of his career. Moffat's last career multiple-point effort was against Notre Dame (3a) on Nov. 13, 2010.
Freshman defenseman Mike Chiasson earned his first career point tonight with an assist on the empty-net goal in the third period.
Senior goaltender Shawn Hunwick played all 60 minutes of tonight's game, stopping 21- of-22 shots faced. Hunwick has allowed only two goals through the first three games of the season.
Guptill and junior defenseman Lee Moffie are currently on three-game point streaks to open the season. Guptill has a two goals and one assist line, while Moffie has tallied three helpers.
Di Giuseppe, Treais and Moffatt each have two-game point streaks.
