
Current, Former Wolverine Swimmers Excel at Pan-American Games

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Two current and four former University of Michigan men's swimmers took part in the 2011 Pan-American Games (Oct. 15-21), representing the United States in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Current Wolverines junior Ryan Feeley (Rye, N.Y./Rye) and senior Dan Madwed (Stamford, Conn./Towson) were each members of the 4x200m freestyle relay gold medalist quartet. Additionally, Feeley participated in the 1,500m freestyle and garnered a silver medal, while Madwed collected a silver medal in the 200m butterfly.
Four former Wolverines were also in action, with Chris Brady (2007-10) earning a trio of medals. Brady collected silver medals in 4x100 medley relay and the 4x100 freestyle relay, and a bronze in the 100 fly.
Charlie Houchin (2007-10) and Matt Patton (2006-09) teamed up to earn gold in the 4x200m relay on Oct. 19. On an individual basis, Houchin collected a gold in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 3:50.95, while Patton earned a silver in the race with a mark of 3:51.25.
Lastly, Bobby Savulich (2005-09) garnered a gold and silver medal. Savulich earned gold in the 400-medley relay and collected silver in the 400m freestyle relay.
