Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On tonight's game ... "Tonight was a good victory against as good of a team that we've played since Wisconsin. I thought defensively we had to play one of our best games -- not that they didn't get some shots. I thought the game was played the way we needed to play."
On killing the five-on-three power play ... "That was huge. It was just one of those shifts where two different players were called for a penalty in the same shift and so we were two men short. That could have been the game for them. To kill that penalty off kept us in the game."
On Michigan's penalty killing ... "I think we pressured the puck and Ferris never really got set up. They were never able to make more than two passes. They didn't get the puck where they like to get it and we knew where that was. It was important that our penalty killers were all in sync and they were."
U-M Junior Forward Louie Caporusso
On the game as a whole ... "It's a huge win for us. [Ferris State has] come off some big wins recently. Right now, we are starting to get our game under us and playing well, so this win was huge."
On Luke Glendening ... "He is an excellent player. He has a nice shot and he works his tail off. That's what is going to happen when you try hard and I'm lucky to have him on my line."
U-M Senior Defenseman Steve Kampfer
On killing the five-on-three penalty ... "I think it was huge. I think you heard the crowd get into it. It's huge momentum for our team and it shows the people out there on the penalty killers are sacrificing their bodies. It was a big stop for us. I think it changed the momentum of the game and got us going forward."
On Luke Glendening ... "He should get rewarded. He sacrifices his body for this team every day. He got rewarded tonight. He is one of the heart-and-soul guys of this team, and when he plays well, the entire team plays well. He makes the team click."
On the team's performance defensively ... "I thought we played great defensively. I thought our defense played great. [Bryan Hogan] played outstanding. He stood on his head and made some big saves for us."
