• Junior/sophomore linebacker Kevin Leach earned his first career start. He is one of three Wolverine players from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School to start vs. Eastern Michigan, joining senior/junior linebacker Obi Ezeh and junior/sophomore right tackle Mark Huyge.
• Leach recorded a team-leading 10 tackles -- three solo and seven assisted -- vs. EMU.
• Senior/junior right guard John Ferrara earned his first start of the season and the first of his career on the right side. He started five contests last season at left guard.
• After allowing Eastern Michigan 172 total yards in the first half, Michigan held the Eagles to 113 yards and no points in the second. It was the second time this season that U-M held an opponent scoreless for an entire half, adding to its first-half effort vs. Western Michigan (Sept. 5).
• The Wolverines accumulated 380 rushing yards against Eastern Michigan -- the program's most since recording 392 vs. Houston on Sept. 6, 2003. The last time U-M claimed more than 300 rushing yards was two seasons ago vs. Minnesota (Oct. 27, 2007) when it claimed 307.
• Senior running back Carlos Brown recorded a career-high 187 rushing yards with two touchdowns. His previous high was 132 yards, which he tallied two years ago vs. Minnesota (Oct. 27, 2007). Brown now boasts four 100-yard rushing efforts in his career.
• The two-touchdown performance was the third of Brown's career. All of Brown's six career touchdowns have come two at a time. He tallied his first score on a nine-yard touchdown run at the end of the first quarter before going 90 yards in the second quarter.
• His 90-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was the third-longest touchdown run from scrimmage in Michigan school history. Butch Woolfolk (1978-1981) holds the school record with a 92-yard touchdown run against Wisconsin on Nov. 3, 1979.
• Brown's previous career long was 85 yards, which he registered two seasons ago against Minnesota (Oct. 27, 2007).
• Freshman quarterback Denard Robinson also secured a pair of rushing takedowns -- the second and third of his career -- against Eastern Michigan. He ran 13 yards on third-and-two in the third quarter and followed with a 36-yard rush for a touchdown in the fourth. Robinson totaled 60 rushing yards in the contest.

Shaw picked up 34 yards on three straight carries -- capped by a five-yard touchdown run. Shaw ended the game with 53 rushing yards -- the second-greatest rushing performance of his career.
