ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Coming off the Wolverines' third consecutive top-10 NCAA outdoor finish, University of Michigan women's track and field head coach James Henry released the team's 2010 schedule today (Monday, Oct. 26). U-M will host three events, two indoor meets and one outdoor meet, during the season.
The Wolverines will kick off the campaign on Jan. 8, when they travel to Akron, Ohio, for a quad meet with Akron, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. The Wolverines will host their first meet of the season, the Simmons-Harvey Invitational, Jan. 22-23. The Indoor Track Building will also play host to the Silverston Invitational on Feb. 20 in the last competition before the Big Ten Indoor Championships, which will be hosted Feb. 27-28 by Penn State in State College, Pa. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be hosted March 12-13 by the University of Arkansas.
The outdoor season begins March 19-20 with the Bulls Invitational on the campus of South Florida. Michigan will be in action in Washtenaw County twice during the outdoor portion of the schedule, first competing at the EMU Invitational in Ypsilanti on April 17. The Len Paddock Invitational, May 7-8 at Ferry Field, will provide U-M its final tuneup before the Big Ten Championships, taking place May 14-16 at Indiana University.
The NCAA preliminary round will be held May 27-29 in Greensboro, N.C., while the NCAA Championships will be hosted June 9-12 by the University of Oregon.
