Postgame Notes: #12 Iowa 30, Michigan 28

• Michigan turned the ball over three times in first half with the defense coming through with stops that forced two field goals by Iowa. The Hawkeyes gained possession at the U-M 19-yard line following an interception and at U-M's 46-yard line after a fumble. Iowa missed a 53-yard field goal at the end of the first half following a Minor fumble at the Hawkeyes' 31-yard line.
• Michigan's defense held Iowa to three yards rushing on 18 attempts in the first half. The Hawkeyes finished the game with 83 yards on 34 carries.
• The Wolverines ended the Hawkeyes' streak of 33 quarters without allowing a rushing touchdown with Brandon Minor's three-yard touchdown run with 1:12 of the first quarter. Penn State was the last team to scored a rushing TD on Iowa (Nov. 8, 2008).
• Freshman quarterback Tate Forcier completed 8-of-19 passes for 94 yards and added eight carries for 26 yards on the ground. Forcier left the game at 12:56 of the fourth quarter and did not return.
• Freshman quarterback Denard Robinson entered the game during the final two drives. He rushed nine times for 49 yards and scored one touchdown. Robinson completed 3-of-4 passes for 30 yards.
• Senior superback Brandon Minor made his first start of the season after being limited by an ankle injury during most of the season.
• Minor rushed 22 times for 95 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns at Iowa. He rushed 12 times for 48 yards and a three-yard scoring run in the first half.
• Sophomore slot receiver Martavious Odoms led the receiving effort with four catches for 76 yards. He had three receptions for 62 yards in the first half, including two catches over 20 yards (21 and 35 yards).
• Senior defensive end Brandon Graham registered a career-high nine tackles, 3.5 TFLs and two sacks in the loss. He had three TFLs and two in the first half.
• Redshirt freshman strong safety Jordan Kovacs led the defense with 11 tackles and an assisted TFL in the contest. It was the second straight game that Kovacs led the team in stops (17 at Michigan State, Oct. 3).
• Junior cornerback Donovan Warren intercepted quarterback Ricky Stanzi's first pass of the game, the second play, and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown. It was the third straight game that Warren has collected an interception and is the first career pick for a TD (five career interceptions).
• Warren matched his career high with three pass breakups at Iowa and added five tackles.
• Junior Troy Woolfolk made his first career start at cornerback, moving from his starting strong safety position for this game. Woolfolk contributed four tackles and one PBU.
• Fifth-year senior punt Zoltan Mesko had his best game as a Wolverine, averaging 53.8 yards per punt. He boomed five punts for 269 yards, including four kicks over 50 yards (53, 52, 61, 55).
• Fifth-year senior running back Kevin Grady was the only current Wolverine to see game action the last time that U-M played at Kinnick Stadium (2005). He had a four-yard reception and was a key blocker in the second-half running game.
• Senior superback Carlos Brown missed the Iowa game due to a concussion sustained in practice.
• Sophomore cornerback Boubacar Cissoko was suspended for a violation of team rules and did not travel to Iowa.
• Michigan's game captains for the Iowa game were linebacker Stevie Brown, offensive lineman Tim McAvoy, center David Moosman and defensive end Tim North.
• Two former Michigan head coaches -- Bump Elliott and Lloyd Carr -- were in attendance at tonight's game.
• Today's game was the Wolverines NCAA-leading 400th televised football game.
• This is the fifth consecutive game played between Michigan and Iowa that has been televised by ABC.
