PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Sophomore Danielle Tauro(Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) of the University of Michigan women's cross country team was named Big Ten Co-Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 2) following her winning performance at the Michigan Open (Aug. 29) in Dexter, Mich. She shares the accolade with Caitlin Lane of Penn State.

It is the first career weekly honor for Tauro. She crossed the finish line in a time of 18:30 on the 5,000-meter course, winning the Michigan Open for the second straight year.

Tauro and the Wolverines compete next this Saturday (Sept. 6) at 11 a.m. when they travel to the Detroit Titan Invitational at Cass-Benton Park in Northville, Mich.
