
Liske Medals at Canadian Junior Championships

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia C Allison Liske (Zeeland, Mich./Zeeland East) of the University of Michigan women's track and field team recorded a pair of top-three finishes this past weekend (July 25-27) at the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships. Liske took second in the shot put with a throw of 14.14 meters and third in the discus, recording a 43.56-meter effort.
Liske, who will be a sophomore in the 2008-09 season, also represented Canada earlier this summer at the IAAF World Junior Championships, held in Bydgoszsz, Poland. Liske recorded a throw of 13.45 meters in her group during the qualifying round to finish 13th.
This past season as a freshman at U-M, Liske qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in the shot put by recording a 47-8 1/2 throw at the Big Ten Championships. She placed 25th in the event at the NCAA Regional.
