Q U O T E S
Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
Opening statement... "Well, it was amazing how goals came in spurts. There were two goals, two goals and two goals. It was just that kind of a game. I'm not sure whether it was the bounces or the breaks. We had the lead and then all of a sudden they scored twice, and they had the lead. Then, near the end, bang-bang, we get two goals. I think it was a game of bounces and breaks. They got a little bit of a break on their tying goal when [Bryan] Hogan mishandled it and then the next shift they went down three-on-one and scored. We took advantage of a couple of our opportunities to make good plays and finish our chances. We had a little bit of luck, but we'll take it. It has been a long time since we had our way with this team in two games, whether it was here or at our place. It was a good weekend for us."
On rallying late in the third period "We've got confidence. Our guys know they can play well. They are believing in each other and you can see it. I think the momentum started to go our way in the last seven or eight minutes. I don't know what it was, but we were mounting and attacking those [final] minutes."
On Travis Turnbull's three goals... "He was on the power play and they worked hard on the power play. I can't tell you they were anything but broken plays, and he got credit for them. He worked hard all night, and when you do that, you end up getting rewarded."
On the play of goalie Bryan Hogan... "Hogan's got the winning record right now, and I think he's getting the benefit of our best games -- the best offense. But I think Billy Sauer can play just as well. I mean, I had to go with Hogan again tonight just based on his winning record. We haven't won a game here since 2004 when Al Montoya was in goal, so when you look at everything you have to go with Hogan."
Michigan Sophomore Forward Louie Caporusso
On how Michigan reacted in the third period... "We just had to stick to our game plan, not lose our focus, and believe we could get it done."
On finding offensive consistency... "I think we're still playing consistently even when things aren't going well for us. I think we're sticking to the game plan and all of the guys are going hard."
On his game-winning goal... "I saw the puck around the blue line and I kind of cheated a bit staying in the zone. I saw Aaron (Palushaj) with the puck and he made a great pass to (David) Wohlberg. I just tried to stay open and put in the open cage."
On finding team confidence... "I think we are very confident. Anytime you come back to win in the last four minutes of the game, that definitely helps your confidence. Hopefully, we'll take it all to the GLI and have a good break here."
Michigan Senior Forward Travis Turnbull
On his hat trick... "I was just working hard out there. I've had a lot of chances this year and the puck hasn't really been going in for me. I guess some nights you get the bounces and tonight was that night."
On Michigan's power play... "When you have chances on the power play you have to capitalize. I might have been the one that put it in the net, but everyone was working hard and everyone contributed."
