• The defeat snapped U-M's five-game winning streak and four-game home winning streak against the Wildcats.
• Seniors Brandon Harrison, Will Johnson, Brandon Logan and Mike Massey served as game captains in their final home game.
• Today's game marked the final home appearance for 16 Michigan seniors: fifth-year seniors cornerback Doug Dutch, safety Shakir Edwards, kicker Jason Gingell, long snapper Sean Griffin, defensive end Tim Jamison, defensive tackle Will Johnson, kicker K.C. Lopata, tight end Mike Massey, safety Charles Stewart, linebacker John Thompson and cornerback Morgan Trent; seniors safety Brandon Harrison, linebacker Brandon Logan, kicker Jason Olesnavage, linebacker Austin Panter and nose tackle Terrance Taylor.

• In his second consecutive start, junior/sophomore quarterback Nick Sheridan completed 8-of-29 passes for 61 yards against the Wildcats.

• Sophomore/freshman quarterback Steven Threet entered the contest in the third quarter and completed 4-of-7 attempts for 22 yards in the game with one interception. He left the competition midway through the fourth quarter due to injury.
• Appearing in his first contest since the Wisconsin game (Sept. 27), junior super back Carlos Brown rushed a season-high 23 times for 115 yards against Northwestern. The performance marks his third career 100-yard rushing effort.
• Crossing the century mark for rushing, Brown becomes Michigan's third super back to gain more than 100 yards on the ground this year, joining freshman Sam McGuffie and junior Brandon Minor. It marks the second straight year that U-M has had three separate backs post 100- yard games.
• Junior defensive end Brandon Graham recorded four tackles, including a game-high 2.5 tackles for loss, against the Wildcats. Graham's 18 career TFLs lead all active U-M players.
• Junior/sophomore linebacker Jonas Mouton led all defensive players with a career-best 11 tackles against the Wildcats. Mouton also contributed one tackle for loss and one pass breakup on the day.
• Junior/sophomore linebacker Obi Ezeh registered his fourth double-digit tackle effort of the season and seventh of his career, totaling 10 tackles against Northwestern.
• With a second-quarter sack, fifth-year senior defensive tackle Will Johnson set a new season high for sacks (2.0) and tied his personal best for tackles for loss (2.5).
• Sophomore/freshman safety Mike Williams recorded his first career punt block, and junior/sophomore walk-on wide receiver Ricky Reyes returned the block for his first career touchdown in his second career appearance on special teams.
• The touchdown on the blocked punt represents the first for Michigan since Marlin Jackson accomplished the feat Nov. 17, 2001, at Wisconsin.
• Junior super back Brandon Minor did not dress for today's game against Northwestern after suffering an injury during the second half at Minnesota. Minor has 89 carries for 466 yards and a team-high 10 touchdowns this season.
• Junior safety Stevie Brown's interception on Northwestern's opening drive was his first of the season and the second of his career.
• Brown eclipsed the 100-tackle plateau for his career with four tackles against the Wildcats. Brown has recorded 102 tackles, two interceptions and six pass breakups during his career.
• Brown tallied a career-best two pass breakups during the contest, including his first-quarter interception.
• Sophomore cornerback Donovan Warren recorded his first interception of the season -- and second of his career -- in the fourth quarter.
• Senior defensive end Tim Jamison recorded 1.5 sacks and two tackles for loss against the Wildcats. Jamison now has 19 sacks and 26.5 tackles for loss in his career.
• The Wolverine defense allowed fewer than 100 yards of total offense in a half for the fourth time this season and second time in two weeks, holding Northwestern (Nov. 15) and Minnesota (Nov. 8) below the century mark in the first half. The U-M defense also stymied Utah (Aug. 30) and Notre Dame (Sept. 13) in the second half of those contests.
• Michigan Stadium press box attendant Art Parker worked his 400th consecutive game at Michigan Stadium during today's game, the 504th in Big House history.
