OSAKA, Japan -- Alumni Katie McGregor and Anna Willard of the University of Michigan womens track and field team competed at the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Athletics Saturday (Aug. 25).
McGregor (1997-01) placed 13th in the 10,000-meter run final with a time of 32:44.76. She won the 1998 NCAA indoor championship while at Michigan in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in 9:24.68.
Willard (2006-07) came in eighth place in the third and fastest heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase qualifier with a time of 9:48.62 but failed to qualify for the finals. Willard's national championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:38.08) at the NCAA Championships last June set a new collegiate record and helped U-M capture a third place team finish.
