Eight Wolverines Named All-Academic by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Eight members of the University of Michigan womens track & field team were named to the 2007 Womens Division I All-Academic Track and Field Team Thursday (July 5) by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Those chosen for the honor include fifth-year seniors Katie Erdman (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac HS), Arianne Field (Kalamazoo, Mich./Hackett HS) and Rebecca Walter (Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves HS), senior Erin Webster (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child HS), redshirt junior Laura Glynn (Farmington Hills, Mich./Harrison HS), junior Nicole Edwards (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Vincent Massey HS), redshirt sophomore Natasha Luppov (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS) and sophomore Bettie Wade (Northville, Mich./Farmington HS).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, athletes must possess a minimum 3.25 GPA and obtain an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the most recent indoor championships or outdoor regional in their event.
Erdman was named an Academic All-American by ESPN The Magazine in June.
The womens track & field team finished third overall in the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 6-9 in Sacramento, Calif.
