Skendrovic Qualifies For National Diving Championships

BOYD, Md. -- University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team senior-to-be Katie Skendrovic (Spring Lake, Mich./Spring Lake) punched her ticket to the 2007 Senior National Diving Championships with a second-place finish in the senior womens platform event at the 2007 USA Diving National Preliminary Zone A Saturday and Sunday (July 21-22).

Skendrovic posted a 227.90 score in the finals, coming to within 4.90 points of the top finisher. Despite posting a higher mark during the preliminary round, the Wolverine diver finished third on a 233.30 score.
At the 2007 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, Skendrovic turned in a seventh-place performance in the platform -- a career-high finish at the postseason competition. A two-time U-M Academic Achievement award recipient, she also placed 17th in one-meter and 30th in three-meter at the zone diving championships.
Skendrovic will make her first appearance at the Senior National Championships, which run from July 31- August 5 at the Stanford Avery Aquatics Center in Stanford, Conn.
