Wolverines Invited to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The University of Michigan men's gymnastics team has been invited to the 2007 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships, announced Tuesday (April 3) by the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Committee. Twelve teams and other individuals (from teams who did not qualify) will compete in one of two national qualifying sessions on Thursday (April 12) at Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University in State College, Pa.
Michigan will join Ohio State, Stanford, Illinois, Iowa and Army in the first national qualifying session at 1 p.m., while Oklahoma, Penn State, Minnesota, California, Temple and Nebraska will compete in the other session at 7 p.m. The top three teams and the top three all-around and individual event competitors from each session will advance to the Team Finals on Friday, April 13 (7 p.m.), where the NCAA team champion and all-around champion will be determined.
Friday's top eight individuals on each event (plus ties) will then advance to the Individual Event Finals competition on Saturday, April 14 (7 p.m.).
