Wolverines Send Ten to Hillsdale Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team sent 10 Wolverines to the three-day, non-scoring Hillsdale Relays Thursday through Saturday (April 26-28) at the Ken Herrick Outdoor Track.

In the running events, junior/sophomore Lisa Montgomery (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) led the Wolverines with an eighth-place finish in the 800m run. Montgomery crossed the finish line with a career-best time of 2:16.35.

In the 3,000m run, sophomore/freshman Kelly Sampson (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance HS) finished 13th with a time of 10:49.08.

The Maize and Blue placed three Wolverines in the top-15 in the pole vault. Sophomore/freshman Sarah Conkle (Bellaire, Mich./Bellaire HS) and junior/sophomore Jennifer Mehl (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) tied for eighth place clearing 11-5 3/4. Mehl tied a career-best of 11-5 3/4.

The Wolverines return to Ann Arbor to host their only outdoor home meet of the season, the Len Paddock Invitational on Friday and Saturday (May 4-5) at Ferry Field.
