Forrester Joins Michigan Staff as Volunteer Strength Coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's track and field head coach James Henry announced that former Wolverine high jumper Nicole Forrester (1996-2000) has joined the team as a volunteer strength coach.
Forrester graduated from U-M with a Bachelor of Science degree in movement science and a Bachelor of Arts in sports management and communication. She also holds a Master of Education from the University of Texas in exercise and sports psychology and is currently completing her doctoral studies in sports psychology.
During her time as a U-M student-athlete, Forrester competed in the high jump with a personal best of 1.93m (6-4). She collected five All-America honors, won five Big Ten Conference titles, was named 1999 Big Ten Indoor Athlete of the Year, and still holds the conference, Big Ten Championships and U-M indoor high jump records (6-4) and the school outdoor record (6-3 1/4).
Forrester has been a member of 16 Canadian National teams, is a Pan American Games silver and bronze medalist, World University Games silver medalist, Francophone silver medalist, and a Commonwealth Games bronze medalist. She is also a four-time Canadian champion and has been ranked first in the high jump in Canada for nine years. In 2007, She was a member of the World Championship team for Canada.
Forrester, who holds a 2007 top 10 high jump performance in the world and the second highest height by a Canadian (1.97m, 6-5 1/2), is currently preparing for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. She is a Canadian Athlete Representative and an Ambassador for Kid Sport.
