Wolverine Relay Team Gets NCAA Consideration Mark
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team took a 95-66 lead after the first day of competition at No.8-ranked Florida Friday (Oct. 19) in the Stephen C. O' Connell Center. The Wolverines were able to take the top time or score in three of the five long-course meter events.
The 400-meter individual medley relay team of freshman Tyler Clary (Riverside, Calif./Poly HS), sophomore Scott Spann (Austin, Texas/Westlake HS), sophomore Chris Brady (Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant HS) and junior Bobby Savulich (Edison, N.J./Saint Joseph) finished first with an NCAA consideration time of 3:50.36.
Two other Wolverines finished with NCAA consideration times junior Matt Patton (Matthews, N.C./Butler HS) (3:58.65) and Clary (4:01.37) in the 400-meter freestyle.
The Wolverines return to the pool Saturday (Oct. 20) at 10 a.m. for the final day of the meet. The events will be swum in long-course meters.
