On the Tee: Heading to New Mexico
After more than two weeks away from competition, the University of Michigan women's golf team will head back to the course as the Wolverines travel to Las Cruces, N.M., Monday through Wednesday (Oct. 15-17) for the 2007 Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate. The 54-hole tournament, hosted by New Mexico State, will feature a 16-team field playing at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. The course will be set up for a par of 72 and 6,319 yards.
The Tournament Field
The Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate field will include 16 teams: Baylor, UC Davis, Gonzaga, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, Samford, South Alabama, Texas State and UTEP.
The Tournament Schedule
The Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate is a 54-hole event with 18 holes played each day. Each day's play will begin with an 8 a.m. MDT shotgun start.

The Tournament Scoring Format
Scoring for the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate will be five players, count the low four scores each round. Selected teams will be allowed to bring an individual.
The Tournament Lineup
The Wolverines will have a five-member starting team and travel an additional individual to the Price's "Give 'Em Five" Intercollegiate. Playing for Michigan will be: sophomore Ashley Bauer (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc), junior co-captain Lydia Bentez Coln (Dorado, P.R./Pendleton School), senior co-captain Lindsay Davis (Dexter, Mich./Dexter HS), freshman Min Yean Tan (Queensland, Australia/Hills International College) and freshman Louisa Shu (West Bloomfield, Mich./Birmingham Seaholm). Senior Isabelle Gendreau (St. Georges de Beauce, Quebec/Saint Andrew's School) will travel and play as an individual.

Michigan's first-round 295 at the Wolverine Invitational marked the first time this season the Wolverines broke 300 in a tournament round. For the season the Maize and Blue has averaged 307.67 per round as a team.
Ashley Bauer started her 15th straight tournament for U-M at the Wolverine Invitational. She has yet to miss a start for U-M during her career. Andrea Ratigan has started her last 14 events, while Lindsay Davis has started her last six. Lydia Bentez Coln and Min Yean Tan have started all three tournaments this season.
Ashley Bauer has finished as the top Wolverine in all three tournaments this season and has posted three straight top-20 performances. She recorded her first top-10 of the season by finishing eighth at the Wolverine Invitational. In her career, she has finished as the top U-M individual in a tournament in seven of 15 events.
Michigan has been represented in NCAA regional competition by the team or an individual in six of the last seven seasons, making team appearances in 2001, '02, '05 and '07. Laura Olin (2004) and Amy Schmucker (2006) have made Central Regional appearances as individuals. In 2002, the Wolverines finished sixth at the Central Regional in East Lansing, Mich., to advance to their first appearance at the NCAA Championships, where the Maize and Blue finished 17th.
Michigan has 28 team titles in the history of the program. Of those 28 titles, 22 have come under U-M coach Kathy Teichert. The Wolverines have won at least one tournament in each of the last four seasons with nine total during that span -- two (2003-04), four (2004-05), one (2005-06) and two (2006-07).
