U-M Sends Trio of Sprinters to Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Three sprinters represented the University of Michigan women's track and field team at the Alex Wilson Invitational last-chance meet Saturday (March 4) at Notre Dame's Loftus Sports Center.
In the final opportunity to automatically qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships or improve provisional qualifying times, freshman Tiffany Ofili (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ypsilanti) was the only Wolverine able to meet an NCAA standard, but her sixth-place NCAA provisional time of 8.40 in the 60m hurdles finals was 0.10 seconds off her season-best time.
Junior Chanelle Campbell (Round Rock, Texas/Round Rock) posted a time of 24.72 to finish sixth in the 200-meter dash, and senior Shavonne Maclin (University Heights, Ohio/Beaumont School) took 11th place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.20.
Michigan will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to participate in the NCAA Indoor Championships next Friday and Saturday (March 10-11).
