Michigan Head Coach Cheryl Burnett
On her impressions of tonight's game ... "We allowed a team to shoot 64 percent in the first half, and that's tough to rebound from. We pride ourselves in coming out and defending well. I thought Miami did a great job of executing its half-court offense. They ran a lot of ball screens and they have some great three-point shooters. We knew that we had to shut down the three-point shot, but I really felt that it was their post play that was keeping us off balance throughout the game. Their posts were basically catching and scoring at will. It seemed like we were very slow defensively. We played a bit of a zone in the second half, which got us back into the game. We struggled the entire game of executing and screening. I'm disappointed because it didn't feel like we could ever maintain any kind of effort. It was really hard for us to get any kind of consistency during the course of the game. We've got to do a better job of getting Krista Phillips the ball, but she really had a great game. It's a disappointing loss. I thought we played fairly well this past weekend. I could tell we were flat tonight."
