Schmucker Wins Minnesota Open with Final-Round 66

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. -- Amy Schmucker (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori HS), who in 2005-06 will enter her senior season with the University of Michigan women's golf program, used a career-best six-under-par 66 in the final round Monday (June 27) to win the 2005 Minnesota Women's State Open at Rush Creek Golf Club.

In addition to Schmucker's medalist honors, former Wolverine Laura Olin (2002-05) tied for seventh with a 149 total. She opened with a five-over 77 but rallied in the final round with an even-par 72.
Schmucker and junior-to-be Brianna Broderick (Richmond, Mo./Richmond HS) will play in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship, scheduled for July 11-16 at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo.
