Brady Receives Big Ten Swimmer of the Week Honors

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- Junior Kaitlyn Brady (Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant HS) of the University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team has been named Big Ten Conference Swimmer of the Week for her performance against the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs this past Saturday (Nov. 5).

Brady started off the meet on Saturday by helping her quartet take second place in the 200-yard medley relay, swimming her leg in 24.38. The junior then missed first place by just .29 with her second-place, NCAA 'B' standard time of 23.29 in the 50-yard freestyle. She followed that up with another second-place, NCAA 'B' standard time in the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in at 2:00.05.
She finished off the meet with a leadoff leg of 23.45 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, helping her foursome earn first place with a time of 1:34.13.
This is the third time in her career Brady has earned the weekly award. She was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week two times last season as a sophomore in 2004-05.
