As a first-team selection Heaton is now eligible for Academic All-America honors. The national team is scheduled to be announced Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Heaton started at forward in all 21 games for the Wolverines this season. She was second on the team in goals (11), assists (6) and points (28). She is the program's all-time leader in games played with 92 in her career. Her 80 career points (31 g, 18 assists) and 31 career goals rank fourth all-time in Michigan history. This marks the third time that Heaton has been honored by CoSIDA for her achievements on and off the field. She was named to the Academic All-District IV third team in 2003 and the Academic All-District IV second team in 2004.
Cottrell started 19 of 21 games at defender this season and has started 39 out of 45 games played in her career. She returned this season after missing all but three games in 2004 because of a season-ending ACL tear. Cottrell earned a spot on the Big Ten Conference All-Freshman team in 2003.
