MANHEIM, Pa. -- The National Wrestling Coaches Association has added University of Michigan junior/sophomore Eric Tannenbaum (Naperville, Ill./North HS) to its lineup for the 40th annual All-Star Classic, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21, at Oklahoma State's Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.

The NWCA All-Star Cassic pits the nation's top collegiate wrestlers against each other in challenge matches that are often seen as a preview of the NCAA Championships. The NWCA ranks this year's lineup as one of the best of all time with five NCAA champions and six preseason No. 1-ranked wrestlers slated to participate.
In just his first season in the Wolverine starting lineup, Tannenbaum led the team with a record of 36-5 last year, placing him third on Michigan's all-time freshman wins list. He claimed the 149-pound Big Ten Conference title -- becoming just the third U-M freshman wrestler to accomplish the feat in program history -- and earned NCAA All-America honors with a fourth-place record at the NCAA Championships.
Tannenbaum joins fifth-year senior captain Ryan Churella (Northville, Mich./Novi HS) as Michigan's representatives at the event. It marks the 10th time in program history that the Wolverines have boasted multiple wrestlers in the all-star lineup.
Michigan will send a contigent of wrestlers to the Michigan State Open this weekend (Dec. 12-13) in East Lansing, Mich. The Wolverine wrestlers will compete unattached at Jenison Field House.
