Heller, Maravic Wrap Up All-American Consolation Play

TULSA, Okla. -- Junior Ryan Heller (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North HS) and sophomore Matko Maravic (Zagreb, Croatia/V. Gimnazjia) of the University of Michigan men's tennis team completed play at the 2005 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships Friday morning (Oct. 7), with both players falling in the singles consolation round of 16 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Heller could not pull off a comeback over Florida State's Sam Chang, losing 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. Maravic suffered a straight-set defeat to Wake Forest's Todd Paul, 6-3, 6-3. Heller finished the week with a 4-2 record at the national tournament, including three wins in qualifying to reach the main draw, while Maravic went 1-2.
Heller and Maravic will return home and join the rest of the Wolverines at the 2005 Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships, which Michigan will host Oct. 20-25 at the Varsity Tennis Center.
