ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Recently graduated University of Michigan rowers Heather Mandoli (Kelowna, B.C./K.L.O) and Katie Reynolds (Saint John, N.B./Saint John HS) have moved on quickly after their days at U-M as both have been named to the Canadian National Under-23 team. The duo was chosen on June 23 to row in the coxless four in the upcoming World Under-23 Championships that run Aug. 6-8 in Pozan, Poland.
Mandoli spent her junior and senior seasons entrenched in U-M's first varsity eight. For her efforts in 2004 she was a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association first-team All-American, a CRCA All-Central Region first-team selection, an All-Big Ten first team honoree and the Big Ten Rower of the Year. Her other past accolades include being named to the 2003 All-Central Region second team and being a two-time member of the All-Big Ten second team (2002, '03).
Reynolds was a fixture in the Maize and Blue first eight for three campaigns. In 2004, Reynolds was selected to the CRCA All-Central Region second team and was a part of the All-Big Ten first team. In 2003, Reynolds was a second-team selection for the All-Central Region and All-Big Ten squads.
The pair of recent graduates are training in London, Ontario, alongside Canada's Olympic boats until the Under-23 team leaves for Poland on July 24.
