Bickett Places Second in Discus at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- University of Michigan women's track and field senior quad-captain Melissa Bickett (Akron, Oho/Revere HS) finished second in the discus as the lone competitor in the Maize and Blue Friday afternoon (April 23) at the Penn Relays.
Bickett, the school-record holder in the event, earned the runner-up honor as she marked 171-7. The senior quad captain set her personal best and school record mark of 186-5 two years ago in the same circle at the 2002 Penn Relays.
Michigan has two other squads representing the Maize and Blue this weekend, with athletes competing at the Drake Relays and the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays. Both meets run through Saturday (April 22-24).
