Jeff Tambellini has had one assist in three consecutive games. With his helper tonight he brought his season scoring line to 6-10-16, which ties him for the team lead with T.J. Hensick (6-10-16).
Senior forward Charlie Henderson made season debut. He was +1 during the contest.
With a 5-1 defeat to Minnesota last night, the Wolverines have been swept in the College Hockey Showcase for the second year in a row. Those are the only two times U-M has lost both games in the 12-year history of the event. Michigan is still first all-time in the tournament at 14-9-1.
The Wolverines were previously undefeated at Wisconsin during the College Hockey Showcase at 2-0-1. Their loss drops the road record to 2-1-1 and the overall CHS line vs. the Badgers to 8-3-1.

Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On his thoughts on the game ... "Well, the fans were right, we were overrated. There's no question about that. We didn't measure up to Minnesota or Wisconsin. We were on the road and maybe we were without a player or two, but everybody is. That's who we are right now. It's not enough obviously. It was a measuring stick. We said that going in we didn't know if we would come out and have a good weekend or not. We really didn't know. I was very clear about that. We didn't know how good we were. We were lucky to win last weekend and we would have had to be really lucky to get by these games."
On how good the team is right now ... "We're not very good right now, obviously. We scored two goals in two games. You can measure it by the power play, penalty killing, goals against, shots, chances for, chances against, turnovers, hits, faceoffs, all the stats were not very good."
U-M Senior Defenseman Brandon Rogers
On the results of the weekend ... "Those were the biggest games of the year. We knew that coming in we were playing two of the best teams that we'll possibly face all year and definitely the best up to this point. If you don't put your best foot forward against the best teams in the country the results are going to be like they were."
On returning to CCHA play next weekend ... "There are big points on the line here before Christmas break and it's important that we get back on the right foot before we get out of here for Christmas. It's going to be two huge weeks and we have to come back ready to play."
On how Michigan can improve ... "In the last two games we let up eight goals. You're not going to win many games when you let up that many goals. It's important for us to buckle down defensively and then go on from there."
