Tuura holds a 2-2-2 record in eight games this season and has collected a team-best 23 saves. In her Big Ten debut, Tuura made two saves in a scoreless draw at Illinois (Sept. 19) for her first career shutout. Tuura held opponents scoreless in her first 159 career minutes in goal at Michigan.
This marks Michigan's first weekly conference honor since Oct. 6, 2002, when senior goalkeeper Suzie Grech (Narberth, Pa./The Shipley School) and Andrea Kayal (1999-2002) were named co-Defensive Players of the Week.
The Wolverines will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for a meeting with Ohio State on Friday (Oct 3). The match is set to start at 7:30 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
