"I am excited for the opportunity to come to a school like Michigan, which takes so much pride in its athletics and has such a long, successful tradition," said Propstra. "I am also excited to work with Bitsy, who has a great reputation in the collegiate tennis community. I'm looking forward to being a part of this Michigan team."
At NAU, Propstra helped coordinate daily practice and conditioning routines, organize travel arrangements, recruit and assist with program budgeting. During Propstra's tenure, the Lumberjacks women's tennis team produced two second-place finishes at the Big Sky Conference tournament and yielded seven Big Sky scholar athletes. Prior to taking her position at NAU, Propstra was the head women's tennis coach at San Diego City College in 2000-01.
A native of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Propstra was a four-time letterwinner and a two-time NCAA All-American in tennis at Arizona State University (1995-99). Propstra was named ASU's 1998-99 female senior student-athlete of the year and was a four-time Academic All-American. She graduated from ASU in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in communications.
